A tongue twister and a couple of Xmas jokes.

Marilé would like to share this with you, guys!

It’ll be little, it won’t be big
It’ll be big, it won’t be little.

And two Christmas joke for our party:

A British host told this really bad joke:
- At Christmas, what do you call a cat on the beach?
- Sandy Claws (pronunciation similar to “Santa Claus”)

The next one is bad too but you can practice the homophones: whine = queja and wine = vino

- What´s the most common Christmas wine/whine?
- Do I have to eat these Brussels sprouts? (The interlocutor understood whine)

Stormy Weather

Don't know why there's no sun up in the sky
Stormy weather
Since my man and I ain't together,
Keeps rainin' all the time

Life is bare, gloom and mis'ry everywhere
Stormy weather
Just can't get my poorself together,
I'm weary all the time
So weary all the time
When he went away the blues walked in and met me.
If he stays away old rockin' chair will get me.

All I do is pray the Lord above will let me walk in the sun once more.
Can't go on, ev'ry thing I had is gone
Stormy weather
Since my man and I ain't together,
Keeps rainin' all the time

Curiosities, by Marilé

Marilé would like to share this with you, guys. I think  it's interesting, so here it goes:

When I was looking up the word “scab” to tell my son “Don’t rip off your scab”, I came across this text. I think it is funny:
Here’s just something so tempting about picking your scabs.
Maybe it’s because they sort of brown, harden, and crisp up, and end up looking like small, bumpy countries on the side of a topographical map. You just can’t help but play God, cracking up the coastline, slowly twisting the island around, or just ripping the whole thing off in one painful shot.
I mean sure, it might sting a bit. But check out that brand new skin underneath. All flaky and pink, ready and waiting for whatever this great big world has to offer. Even if it offers another round of roller skating without kneepads on a gravel driveway.
Yes, picking scabs is a sweet guilty release — like twisting your tongue into your loose baby teeth, popping big zits (grano) in the centre of your cheeks, or dropping hot farts underneath the sheets.
And to distinguish between different sounds, sentences like:
  • Don’t be rash (reckless, imprudent) when you are in a rush.

And curiosities like these:
  • wound [wu:nd] herida
  • wound [waʊnd] PT PP of wind [waɪnd] enrrollar; dar vueltas o cuerda; serpentear
  • but wind [wɪnd] es viento
